I think it boils down to choosing a OS. Apple is real good at hooking people on hardware.

I can get the highest spec model for less than $2K here. Which has the same specs as the rMBP 15 with a GT750M and that's $2,600.

If it was purely OS, Apple wins hands down
I was tolerant of Windows 8.1 when I was looking at those. Actually really like OS X, and I'm just learning my way around it

I have always thought music and photography on a Mac is a bit better than on a PC, and gaming on a PC was better that a Mac. That's what I mean by OS choice. I don't think one is better, but I do think you should get the OS that caters most to you.

Depends if I wanted to use my adobe creative cloud account or game? Ha ha. All that aside, there isn't a best one. Because a few months will follow, and what was the best will be dust. If you like games, get a modular device that will grow with you. If you use adobe, it seems to run better on a Mac. Just my opinion, and I wish I had a retina mac/net/laptop or whatever Chetan calls it, of my own! Good night chatter, keep it real and keep on.
