Nice speed Andrew.
How about coverage, is it better?
So far, pros and cons with the new phone?

Coverage is the same as Rogers, at least in my province. Slightly faster peaks but also slightly less stable as far as speeds go. Rogers seemed pretty consistent between 15-20Mbps. MTS speeds tend to fluctuate more (location And time of day seem to be a bigger impact then Rogers). Which is fine, generally I'm not streaming videos so max speed isn't a big deal other then bragging rights. Both have stable connection and good coverage so I'm happy. Bonus is MTS has unlimited data within the province (and 400mb outside the province) for the same price I was paying 5gigs on Rogers. Seeing as I'm too damn broke to travel, that's fine by me.

Phone thoughts so far. Based on my 2 previous phones, most recently the S4 and the Galaxy Nexus (GSM version) before that. Also, keep in mind I really only get to play/dig into it in the evenings. During work I can only have my phone at breaks, so my learning time is more spread out:

Screen. I'm torn. I do miss how the color pop and the deep blacks of the S4, and 5.5 is a touch too large for my liking. I also think the QHD is a touch immature yet, but we'll see. Re-make the G3 with a 5.2/5.3" AMOLED and I'd be in love. That being said I am getting used to the screen tone and colours. It's not bad, please don't think I'm complaining. It's just quite different.

Skin? Now that I've had more time I think TouchWiz is crazy. If you don't play with anything else it's not bad. Once you try another skin you realize how much STUFF they add (and yes, LG adds lots too)

Haven't really put any music on here yet nor streamed any radio so I can't say one way or the other.

Ditto for the camera. If we get decent weather on Sunday I want to go out and do some shooting with both the S4 and the G3, and see how they do. I'm looking forward to being able to do more low light shots thanks to the OIS, but we'll see. The S4 camera was pretty impressive to me.

It blows me away that the G3 is very slightly larger then the S4, yet stuffs in a screen that's half an inch larger. And in-hand feel absolutely destroys the S4. I got a cheap TPU case for it, partly so the screen and camera lens were protected when I set it down, and partly so it wasn't so slippery to hold on to. I'll probably get a similar one got the G3, but it would be more to keep it looking good then for grip purposes. (plus I have a habit of setting my phone's down screen down, so it's nice to keep the screen off the desk/table).

I ran the stock launcher pretty much all week and it's way better then the Sammy stock launcher. I tried Action Launcher Pro for a bit, and just installed Apex Launcher Pro this evening. I like simple, so generally I have 1 to 3 home screens, 5 icon dock with usually has 1 or 2 folders. I'm not one who has 7 or 8 home screens and tons of widgets.

Battery life seems to be hit or miss, but then again part of that is me playing with it non stop in the evenings and part of it is the difference in screen technology. I've already tweaked (did that tonight) how often some of my apps update so that should help.

Did I miss something you want to hear about? Let me know

Where did you quote that from? I don't recall saying that it blew my mind

Sorry for late reply. i remember saying it to my little sister when she wanted something expensive so not sure where :)

But if you do im sure you can get a nexus 6 and maybe some extras as well :)

Wow, Sprint has surprised me on this one. They're finally doing something good, at least in some places.
Now they need to do this everywhere! 1413657829340.jpg

So, I'm driving with the donut on the front driver's side. My tire pressure monitor went off. I figured it was just low pressure due to a temperature drop today. I went over to Sam's Club, where I bought my tires. Turned out the tire had a small hole in the sidewall (small enough it only leaked a small amount of air--not noticeable in handling of the car). They couldn't repair the tire and had no tires my size in stock. They're not a weird size. They're 205/55/16. At least I'll get $55 credit on new tire when it arrives. It was ordered.

I have no idea how that sidewall got a tiny hole.

First low-light shot with the G3. My S4 would turn this shot into a blurry, grainy mess. Yes, it's still grainy but definitely an improvement. Might go out a bit today and see what this thing can do in daylight.

Happy Sunday everyone. Coffee up :)
