[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

Something new came in today. Sending it to Thailand tomorrow to a fellow community member who cannot purchase it yet in Thailand.

kct1975, how is your dad doing? Did they put the additional stent in or not? I hope he is making a speedy recovery. Good luck.

Happy Tuesday ChatterHeads :D

Im not crazy about time switching.Id prefer they stay on DST at least its light later .

The time change actually had an impact on my yard. New delivery driver would have got here in daylight instead of darkness on a rainy night.
They couldnt see driveway exit and messed up my yard. They said they would fix it.

My dad is still recovering at the hospital. He has had a couple of minor scares, when he has had a couple of "pauses" of his heart, where his heart sort of skips a beat.

The doctors are saying right now that he should be getting out of the hospital either this evening or tomorrow.

As for the additional stent, right now the doctors are saying that they are going to wait and see if the 70% blockage can be treated with medication, instead of surgery.

Make sure he takes Plavix regularly now that he has a couple of stents in. Are they attributing the irregular heartbeat to arrhythmia? I hope that they don't recommend a pacemaker or any EP surgery for it. Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed for you and your dad!

I went on a massive fruit stand buying spree in the last 24 hours, 3 phones and one smartwatch. Now I need to figure out what to keep and what to flip.

having finally seen the zygon invasion. One thing just...one thing. This might be the best series of doctor who in years!yaaaas

If they do recommend a pacemaker i wouldn't go against it(i know you weren't suggesting this). One of my closest friends as a kid lost his dad due to him having a heart condition. He was the one to find him too. Super sad. The kicker? If he had just went in and got the pacemaker like he was suppose to.. He would likely still be around today.

I know this story is kind of a downer but just what you said made me think of it. His dad's view was of the " I'll be fine " variety. I don't know. I guess what i am saying is. Better safe than sorry

There are a lot of factors that go into deciding whether to get an implantable medical device or not. I actually work in the medical device field and build implantable pulse generators (pacemaker, defibrillator, neurostimulator) as part of my day job. My father in law maybe needs a bradycardia device but so far hasn't gotten one yet. When a patient is quite old the complications from the surgery end up creating more problems than they solve (aka co morbidities in industry jargon).

On the flip side I have a friend who got a couple of EP procedures done and had a pacemaker put in about 10 years ago. He was in his 30s back then so it absolutely made sense for him BTW he lives in Grand Rapids since 2006:-)

Long story short, lot of things to consider. Any surgery, minimally invasive or otherwise is a big deal. Just my 2c.

If i recall he was in his 30s when he died.
Maybe there were other reasons that i wasn't aware of for him not getting it put in. But who knows.

Wow...your not kidding...I'm a little surprised that FOX got away with the Deadpool actor using rough language to children and around children.

I understand what you are saying. On Sunday, when my father's heart rate dropped to scary low levels, the doctors did mention that if it go back up and stableize, that they would have to put in a Pace Maker.

Thankfully, my Dad's heart rate did come back up.

Most likely, my father will be getting out of the hospital sometime this afternoon.

He has been given a list of Dietary Restrictions to keep his cholesterol low and his blood pressure low. The biggest challenge now, will be to get my father to actually follow his dietary restrictions.
