The check for update is unavailable or the update its self is unavailable? The reason I ask is because the way the updates come out they aren't always available to all devices at the same time. If it's the latter and not the former I'd say give it half a day and try again. If it's the former I'd say go through both phones "all apps" lists and compare what if anything is disabled from one device to the other and see if something odd is disabled.

That's what is so worrysome to me, it says ?Check for updates is not available"

I've been having the same the issue today, Just received my wifes new Razr M and was in the process of moving data and activating it from her old razr m and I'm getting that same message. I called motorola and they were absolutely no help, didn't think it was their server but I have two phones and they both tell me the same thing. I check my Moto X and I'm getting a Motorola notification error saying motorola ID couldn't authenticate so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's there servers. I'll try again tomorrow. I was able to update a new Razr M yesterday for my mother In-law.

Same problem here. My father's phone (identical, purchased at the same time, same shared plan) updated on Monday. Mine still hasn't so I tried to force it today. Same "check for updates is not available at this time" problem. If anyone figures this out, please post ;)

Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Been getting the same for the two days.
I went into settings then Apps then All.
Went to Updater.
Force stop
Clear data.
Checked for updates a couple of times and worked for me.
Downloading update now.

I went to:
Apps-
Motorola Services Force Stop and Disable
Back to apps
Updater
Clear Cache
Back to Mtorola Services - Enable

Download started.

Good Luck

I did a check for updates this morning and it suddenly worked. Only change is that I cleared the cache yesterday, but it didn't work after that so I don't think that had anything to do with it.

The worrisome part of this is that it has been installing for 45 minutes now. For the last 20 minutes the screen has been off and the phone is very, very hot. Fingers crossed that this is going to work.... :(
