Check your data plan after you activate your SGS III

Holy moly. I would go back to the place (sounds like a non-corporate verizon reseller) and make as big of a stink as possible. Do it when there are other customers around. It sounds like something very shady since if you go direct to VZ you pay NO deposit to pre-order. Your best hope is that they just screwed something up and they can reconcile it. If not, just try to get your 50 bucks back, and take this as a life lesson, do NOT trust verizon resellers! Go to an actual corporate store, call, or go through the VZ web site. Verizon lets some VERY crappy people resell for them, it's a shame but it's true.
I have to say that I actually went to a legitimately Verizon store. I have had been going there for almost 10 years and usually they are ok. But they keep on changing persons every time I go. Always, a new face. Not fun!!! I guess I should start sending those mails to corporate people!!!
 
Went from my 3G Pixi to the S3 just fine using the instructions. Just checked and unlimited data is there, along with unlimited text. The receipt didn't say unlimited text so I was a little concerned something got changed.
 
MYT PLAN IS SCREWED! i got home and now i kno what the girl was talking about when she was asking me if i had a corporate account. i was like no. but now i have 2gb and corporate email for 45 a month!! lost my unlimited. calling them right now!
 
Got the phone today....talk to 3 different reps, trying to get it activated. Each one said they couldn't do it from their end, and would have to put in for a request (Yeah right...how long is that going to take?).

So I said no....and just did it online when I got home.....went through just fine.

:Update..............Just checked after around 8 hours since activation, and noticed my text messaging changed from 1000 to 250......:confused:....called and the rep switched it back and everything is good. He was also surprised to see that the online way worked...because since the phone has come out, he hasn't been able to help customers that preorder their phones keep unlimited data......and would have to tell them they would have to go through all their request forms hoops.

After this he said that he would be looking into the online way and to how to getting it working for them also.

... I just checked today when I say this post and I still have the unlimited data, same as before. The activation went really smooth altogether and I'm loving the new phone. When I pre-ordered, they asked me if I wanted to keep the same plan or change to one of the new plans. I made sure to tell them I wanted to keep the same plan with the unlimited data.

, I just got off the phone with a service rep is she was very helpful in restoring my unlimited data plan
 
Activated over the automated phone line and checked my plan after activating and it showed 2 GB. Called CS and didn't have a problem getting it back to unlimited. Checked online and it was back to unlimited.
 
I ordered my phone on June 19th and received my phone yesterday. I called the automated number and had forgotten my account password so was transferred to a call center representative to assist. She told me that i would lose my unlimited data and was i told about this. I said I was not losing my data and my receipt shows that I will keep my data. She then asked what date I ordered and I said June 19th. She said she would need to put a request in to put it back onto my account. I checked today and it still showed 2gbs, so i called and the lady put it back on for me right away. Make sure you check!!
 
Activated my phone via land line Monday. I'm still on unlimited as of checking 5 minutes ago.

I wonder if this is a new "feature" that Verizon has put in the last day or so, to get people off unlimited:(

activated with the phone number provided with the sim card worked just fine coming from my iphone 4 and i kept my unlimited data. everything has gone smooth for me thank goodness.
 
Activated online via My Verizon yesterday - it was very quick with no problems, and my unlimited data is still intact as of 30 minutes ago.
 
me and my wife's still show unlimited. i upgraded to s3 32gb on 06/06/12 and bought my wife the s3 16gb at retail price after the deadline.
 
Ihad this same data plan question but got it resolved. I imagine there will be several others.



I preordered on 6/22.

The contract did state unlimited the plan however; showed a 2gb plan at a higher cost.



I contacted 8009220204 option 4. (state DATA PLAN at the voice prompt)

Verizon WILL honor the contract without hesitation.

If you activated at the store / with a VZ rep.
Per the supervisor:
The representatives received an alert for this today. The system no longer has the "unlimited" option so when we all activate the new device it is defaulting into the 2gb setting. They will definitely correct it. I had no hassle and my call was approx 5minutes + i left positive feedback for the rep since I expected to have to escalate and provide documentation which she didnt require.




Result. 2 years at unlimited. Spectacular
 
My data plan had changed to 2Gb also. I noticed when I looked at the receipt that came with the phone. So I called on Monday when I got the phone and the lady said she had to put in a request and then to check back in 48 hours to make sure it changed. Sure enough today it hadn't changed. Called Verizon and the guy said he couldn't really do anything and sometimes it takes a little while so he said to give it another 4 days. I asked what I'm suppose to do when I'm close to hitting my data limit and he said to just call back. Well 3 days of having the phone, I've already used 1/4 of the data. So I called back to get another rep and the guy changed me back to unlimited right there over the phone.

So if people are having problems getting changed back, try calling and getting a different rep.
