Hi!
I wish to backup text messages with their attachments to Google Drive so that I may delete them from the phone. (This is to make new messages from a previous sender separate from previous messages from that sender, as people here were kind enough to explain.).

I tried SMS Backup & Restore. The problem is that the backups simply splat themselves in Google Drive and are spread all over the place.
I asked the SMS Backup and Restore people how to get the backups to go into the folder that I created (from within SMS Backup and Restore) on Google Drive. The reply was simply words to the effect of "It will work". It isn't working, so i asked again, but no reply has arrived after a couple of weeks.

I tired Google's backup. It won't let me view the files that got backed up to Drive. I learned that this is how it works.

Do any of you know a good app to backup messages and sent them to a particular folder on Google drive?
Have any of you tried Essential Backup by ALMDroid Apps? I saw it announced on this group, but when I see it on Play Store, there are no reviews. If it is good, I'd like to support a member of this user group by buying it.

Thanks For Your Advice!
Paul

Hi
Which device do you have?
With Google messages you can sync them to your PC from there I'm not sure if it has an option to back up to computer or Manually back them to your computer but can check it out here

Thank You Mustang7757.

The phone is Lenovo's Moto G Stylus with Android 11.

Thanks to your instructions, paring was easy. But, when i view the messages on the web, I couldn't find any way to save or print-as-pdf the messages.

If I click to Print As PDF, I get a small part of the message thread.

What did I miss? (Something obvious, right?)
Thanks Again!

I'll have to experiment around and give me a couple of days to look I haven't used it to save unless someone has had and can chime in.
