Other than the gray no tab screen (which of course is like the worst color for AMOLEDs/our screen/phone), it's awesome. Also, flick up on a tab card (in tabs) 5 times and see what happens!

question...
how do I open a bookmark, without opening a new tab?
maybe im missing something?
thanx
Danny

It's pretty sweet except the part where it doesn't know I already have flash installed.

Isn't flash dead? I heard where Adobe was working with Google to get html5 built into the browser, since that is where people need to be moving to.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but if you're on the tab viewer screen and you keep swiping up again and again eventually it will do a barrel roll. I know, this has no real purpose, but it is a neat little trick. Try it!

lol, how did you figure that out?

The only thing I'm really missing is the lack of ID/PW sync with the desktop version. That would absolutely make it my default browser from this moment on, regardless of any other beta quirks. I really hope they add it in future. (Can't see why they wouldn't...)

when going to click on a link, with another click right by it, it brings a little popup with both links zoomed in

This is a very cool little feature. In fact I noticed it coming to this page from the "From The Forums" summary on the main AC blog page.

It doesn't bring it up the zoom box if you're accurate with your tap on the link. But if you hit the whitespace between links, it doesn't ignore the click completely and it doesn't try to guess which one you wanted (which would be the Apple way!). Instead it intelligently recognizes that you were trying to hit one of the options and missed, then gives you a larger version to aim for. Very smart way of handling it without unnecessary page loads and back/forth navigation, or forcing you to zoom the entire page.

Not to be evil and encourage these kind of shenanigans... but, since it's a "why didn't we think of that first?" idea that other mobile browsers will definitely try to copy, I kind of hope Google patents it and subsequently c***-blocks Apple from incorporating it into Safari. :p Taste of their own medicine. I know, I'm bad...

I waste a lot of time at Reddit so that was one of the first places I visited with Chrome. Noticed a couple things:

1) Reddit search didn't work well on Chrome (works fine on stock browser)
2) Double tapping to zoom doesn't work on pictures - you have to pinch zoom. On the stock browser you can double tap pictures and they zoom in and out.
Pinch zooming is great if you're using both hands, but often I am just using one hand so I double tap a lot to zoom.

love the ability to immediately view all the tabs I have open on my laptop...

How do you do this? My tabs don't show up!

edit: some of my tabs show up now, but not all of them...not sure why...hmmm

one reason why you shouldn't use it as the default browser. I used it this afternoon to find a local discount tires. It didn't give me the map of the ones near it. location is enabled in settings.

I had to fire up the stock browser.

FYI, it will only show new tabs you opened... after you have signed in and synced....

noy sure if that was the issue for you..

I downloaded the Chrome Beta for my Galaxy Nexus. Can someone explain why FLASH doesn't work on Google's browser on Google's current Premium phone? I've been using Opera Mobile and gee, flash works great on that. Come on Google, get your FLASH together for those sites that still use it.

I know a lot of people say Chrome beta is faster/smoother than stock ICS. But I strongly feel this is prior to the 4.0.4 update. 4.0.4 really improved browsing in ICS so I don't think Chrome is faster. But I could be crazy.

used chrome for about a day now. noticed it's slower than stock-half the screen is white while it's still loading. it's not that much slower though, and the spell check actually works so i'll stick with it for now.

i've seen all the "wow! it's lightening fast!" posts about chrome, and can only attribute these to the same psychological affect an oil change has on some people who believe their car "drives better" afterwards.
