Sometimes, but not always, Chrome will add an icon for the page I just looked at to the Chrome home page. How do I stop that? I can't find anything in the settings that deals with this.

In the Chrome menu, there's an "Add to homescreen" option, right between "Find in page" and "Request desktop site." Any way you're accidentally tapping that?

I don't think so. Seems to just pick up pages I've reviewed after searching randomly.

I think the OP is talking about the cards below the Google search bar when you open a new page (see screenshot). If so, you can individually remove them. Press & hold on one card and select remove in the menu. But it will be replaced for a different one. It's kind of a favourites / history mix. I haven't found a way to stop that in the mobile app.

Oh, silly me--I should have seen that! Thanks, Javier P.:)

It may be that it will only add the shortcut to the homepage if you've visited it a certain number of times.
