Chrome tab list back

Anyone know the real way to get rid of the tab grid? Instructions online don't seem to help.

Just to be clear -- you're talking about the screen in Chrome showing all of your open browser tabs, right? And do you mean that you want the list format, or that the list format has come back and you want the grid of thumbnails instead?

No, I want the old way that basically shows all the screens behind each other... NOT the new grid format.

It also sounds like you're talking about the App Overview/Recent Apps screen, not the Chrome browser's tab management screen. I don't think you can change that.

No I am talking about chrome. They changed it a few months ago to this grid thing, just want to go back.

I don't think you can change back with the current version. It's no longer available in Chrome flags, as it was described here: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/200676/how-to-revert-to-tabbed-overview-in-chrome

Actually figured it out. Have to disable the grid and also the groups.

Google has been trying to force this on us and making it harder to disable as updates progress. This article seems to be frequently updated on the various methods to disable the tab grouping/grid.

Personally I'm now refusing to update Chrome any further. As the article suggests at the end, this may be moved to being a permanent feature of Chrome, meaning no more flags to disable it
