I have been using the Chromecast Audio multi-room group feature as long as it has been available with no issues, until today. For reasons unknown to me, when I mirror a device's audio to a defined group of two (2) Chromecast Audio devices, only one (1) of the Chromecast devices has audio. I have a Chromecast Audio in the living room and one in the basement and they would cast the same audio program from a single device until today. Only the living room device has audio when I select the group. Both Chromecast devices are on the network because I can cast to each device separately. I rebooted my WiFi router and both devices. I have even uninstalled & reinstalled the Google Home app with no positive results. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas? TIA

Have you tried removing from the group and re-adding?

Thanks for your response. Yes, I've tried everything. I've deleted the group and recreated it several times. The problem exist on all my Android devices. The living room Chromecast Audio in the group has audio, but not the basement one. I can cast to that device standalone with no problem. My Chromecast Audio devices are enrolled in the beta firmware program, but I don't believe that is the cause of the problem.

I'd try re-setting the Chromecast Audio and re-set it up then. That helped when my Assistant speaker borked up.

@SRFast

Did you make this work? I have the exact same issue.

I removed the basement device from my network and added it back via the Home app, but this didn't resolve the problem.

My Pixel 3 XL, Essential PH-1, Nexus 5 smartphones and NVIDIA Shield K1 tablet have no problem mirroring audio (SirusXM app) to the individual Chromecast Audio devices, but casting to an audio group no longer works. Everything worked perfectly until Thursday morning. Very annoying.

Two weeks to the day the Chromecast Audio multi-room casting is working again. I reinvented the wheel the first few days it stopped working and nothing resolved the issue. I resigned myself to manually switching the audio to different rooms. While doing that this morning, I selected the "Home Audio Group" by accident and to my amazement, music came out of the basement audio system. It appears Google pushed out a new beta version, but it doesn't matter because it is working again.
