Chromecast Constantly Rebooting

Sorry if this is a repeat thread...

I love my chromecast but today I started having issues with it. Whenever I try and cast to it, it plays for about 3 seconds then reboots. Then repeats, no matter the app, no matter the video/audio. I've run updates and tried a factory reset. Anybody know anything?

I lied.... Its mostly the YouTube app. How do I report this to Google? Anybody else have this?

Are you running the latest version of YouTube? Try settings/apps/all/youtube - force stop, then clear cache and data, then uninstall updates and reboot. Let it update again from the Play Store.

YouTube suddenly stopped rebooting my chromecast and now beyondpod is making it reboot.

Same issue here: chromecast continuously reboots, i 'd say that it's not related to the running app but to the chromecast itself.

For the record: the mentioned issue didn't allow me to re-configure chromecast on a different tv&wifi

As suggested in another thread i changed the usb/power cable (the one provided seems to be not so good) and now the chromecast seems to work...finger crossed!

As corny as it sounds on my end I hate the idea of buying a device and having to supply my own cords because the ones included are crap. Yes USB cables are cheap but the idea behind it I hate.

Just setup my Chromecast last night (took way too long). Not when I cast (VEVO, YouTube, Videos on Chrome) it crashes and reboots a few mins in. If I don't cast, the screensaver runs for quite awhile...anyone have thoughts?

Update: I was using a charger from another device(5V @.85A), switched to the Google charger (5.1V@.850A) and it hasn't failed yet... 85mW of power difference (nominally), didn't expect a difference in operation.

Hi Folks,

My chromecast makes update ... reboots ... and then starts a new update ... this loop never ends...

Google just ignore my messages ...
Has anyone had the same problem or has any idea about how to solve it?
I've tried reset the factory settings... but no success....
