Android Central Question

Hi there - I have a strange issue with my Panasonic TH-55CS610A that I just cannot resolve. I have used a chromecast in this TV for a couple of years without issue. The chromecast was removed for a few days and put back in but has not worked since......it seems to connect and any device shows it as casting yet no vision. The chromecast works in other TVs and I have tried the HDMI ports and video can be streamed from a laptop no problem. I then bought a new chromecast and exactly same problem......factory reset the tv and still same problem. Any idea how to fix??

Hi welcome to AC!
Then I'm going assume something wrong with the Panasonic tv and you tried resetting it .

Yes - tried to reset TV but same.....yet the hdmi points work with laptop no problems. So essentially the chromecast works....the hdmi ports work....chromecast has always been fine on this TV.....chromecast still seems to connect on TV but now black screen!?

You check on tv for correct HDMI input ? Through screen

Yep...when I reconnect chromecast it actually shows brief chromecast.... message on screen then nothing. The when casting via chromecast shows as casting on phone but nothing so seems to be connecting yet showing nothing
Strange , not sure what else to suggest, maybe other members can suggest something here .

Did you try connecting the Chromecast back to the same HDMI port it was originally connected to? Are you using any extension cables you weren't using before? Have you tried connecting the Chromecast to other HDMI ports on the tv in case the one you were using might of got damaged when disconnecting and reconnecting the Chromecast? Or the TV could be finicky like a pc where different ports can act differently.

Also make sure your ports are clean. Dirt can build up over time and cause issues in ports even when something's plugged into it.....you don't always notice until you move the connection. I just had that happen on my modem...had been plugged in for years working fine, moved it a few inches and that was enough to cause major internet issues.

Took me a while to figure out the issue, but once I cleaned the port and cable connector problem solved.

Are you using a USB port or the Chromecast power adapter to power it?
If a USB port, try using the power adapter instead.

Nah no different cables....literally plugging straight in as it previously was.....and port does still work with a laptop. Yeah could try cleaning it though as it is an outside TV...didn't think of it as port was still working but worth a go....cheers!
