Chromecast won't disconnect properly

I just bought 3 Chromecast devices to take advantage of the $20 Google Play credit offer. The issue I'm having is that once my phone is casting to the chromecast, it takes quite a bit to get it to disconnect. The app that is giving me the most trouble is the Twitch app. Any idea why I'm having this issue? I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

Use the Chromecast app to cast (mirror) your phone's screen to Chromecast. It disconnects as soon as you press the disconnect button. and it casts anythng on your phone, not just selected apps. (It works on the Note 3, so it probably works on the Note 4 and just hasn't been added to the list yet.)

I went and read the reviews of the Twitch app in the play store and apparently it's a bug because several people are reporting the same issue.

Now I'm having an issue with the WatchESPN app. It will disconnect but the lock screen still shows that I'm casting. Huh? I'm confused.
