I bought a class 4 sd card from Verizon the other day. My question is, is that fast enough? I know what the different classes are but I don't know how fast 1080p video writes to the card. Plus I would want to take simultaneous video and pictures

you only have one lens so the simultaneous picture and video might be a problem. 4 is fast enough but if you want the fastest like your phone you need a 10

Amazon has class 10 cards for probably half the cost you spent at Verizon. I would take a look and pick up the 10. There is zero lag time using a class 10 card.

You can take video and snap pictures at the same time. Most new phones have this capability

I haven't seen any lag with the class 4 so far. I just took 20 burst fire pictures with no lag

Yes it is taking a still during the video.

Apparently the class of the sd card is not standardized. Kingston rates class 2 at 2mbps, class 4 at 4mbps and so on. SanDisk says their class 4 is 15mbps, class 6 is 20 and class 10 is 30. If that's true then my class 4 is 15mbps. Should be fine
