Clean ROM that keeps eye-candy?

Hey y'all, I took a break while waiting for 2.2. Now I have the stock update - I find the color adjustments interesting.

What I'm looking for is a ROM that keeps the eye-candy backgrounds (which I like), but loses the other gunk? Also, any kernel recommendations?

I really really like evil fascination 3.4 its smooth n has a beautiful look to it... I would try nemesis2alls OTB kernel or imnuts pbj kernels

You could just de-bloat your stock rom, or you can use titanium backup, flash a rom, and then restore the factory live wallpaper assortment manually (if that's what you're getting at).
