Clean up widgets

I have a ton of widgets on my smartphone. I only use very few. They are closing up my widget screen. How do I clean it up?

Long press any widget on the home screen and move it to the trash (top of the screen) to remove it. If you are using a third-party launcher, such as Nova, you can try re-sizing widgets to clean up the home screens. Note that resizing may create visual issues and make some information on the widget unreadable.

That's not exactly what I wanted. I am not using TouchWiz. When I select WIDGETS, I get a list of widgets that were originally downloaded when I installed the App. I'm using the SHORTCUT for the app so I don't need the widget. I hope I have cleared up the post. Thanks for your help.

Most of those widgets are part of an app. As far as I know there's no way to delete just the widget and keep the app installed in your phone.
