clear google search history

there is a google search bar on the home page. how the hell do you clear the search history. is long pressing every single entry and deleting them one at a time really the only way to do it? it can't be that bad, can it? i've gone into the settings/applications/application manager/google app/storage/manage storage and selected "clear all data" and "clear google search data". i also clicked "clear cache". the history is still there. why didn't people lose their jobs for making something this bad?

It's coming back because it's syncing with your Google account in the cloud. Delete the search history from your account this way: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/465?source=gsearch&hl=en

Thanks. I was able to "pause" my web activity along with everything else. I'm a stickler about clearing my history. It's why I'm still on XP. I feel like it's the least spying OS. Yes I need Windows.
