Clear Voicemail

I don't use voicemail, but when I changed network provider it came on automatically. I kept getting notifications for voicemail in my notification bar, but couldn't clear them. I ended up going to my apps, and clearing the data on 'phone'. It removed it.

Is that the right way to do it?

The reason it was showing up was probably to set the voice mail part up.

That's something you will need to deal with your carrier about. Nothing do do with the device.
