I followed the instructions in the first post on this page in order to bypass having to set a screen lock after installing credentials. (I did not use adb but instead used a root browser.) The hack didn't work, so I decided to just clear the credentials which in the past had allowed me to choose no screen lock.
When I choose Settings>Security>Clear Credentials, the following happens:
At first, the Clear Credentials option is greyed out. When I select Trusted Credentials>User, nothing shows up. However, when I go to Settings>Lock screen>Screen Security>Screen lock, the option to choose "None," "Slide," or "Face Unlock" are still greyed out. After viewing this screen, when I return to Settings>Security, the "Clear credentials" option is no longer greyed out, but when I select Trusted Credentials>User, nothing shows up.
I'm guessing I screwed something up when I tried to follow the directions at the link above, but I don't know what I did wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
