Well, I've scoured the intarwebs and have seen this issue pop up, but no real explanation or fix. I'm on MIUI 1.7.22 and am trying to update to .29. The problem is is that clockwork says im on 4.0.0.5, but when it boots into recovery, I'm still on the standard 2.5 recovery. Ive uninstalled CWM and the liscense, and rebooted the phone to reinstall, then reboot the phone, then tried flashing, and no dice.

Anyone have an idea as to whats going on and how to fix it?

are you using 2nd int? I was able to update fine in CW. No issues with it and miui.

Did you flash the 'Droid X (2nd-init)' CWM from ROM Manager? Then the first time after flashing select Reboot into Recovery from within ROM Manager.

That it exlpains why I bricked my phone this morning:( The price of ignorance... :'( I have to go all day without my phone...#!$@#@!#$ lol...

2nd-init roms are a pecuilar folk aren't they?

I went into Droix Bootstrap to flash TeamBlackHats all in one Gingerbread flash from AnyFirmwareZIp...yeah right!

On life support here..:p

Yeah, bootstrap is never used on CM7 or miui roms, but most good install instructions state that. I recommend anyone who flashes roms to read at least a few sets of instructions specific to OS version and rom type. To get familiar first of the correct process. Most of us here have had to sbf lol.

2int roms are not particular. 2int kills all motor processing allowing pure roms to load on the X. That is why two of the most unparticular roms like cm7 and miui run on the X. @cvpcs discovered 2int and it has zero to do with the rom and everything in preparing the X for a pure rom. My. 02

That's the thing, I'm trying to go 2nd unit. I click the option, it shows success, but boots the non unit recovery.

Meh, clearing cache didn't work either. Other people seem to be having this problem, but no dice in getting it fixed. I'm not sure making a backup and doing a factory reset would work because i'm not booting into 2nd init.

I pretty much figured I would end up having to SBF and starting clean off Froyo. So it looks like thats where I'm headed now.

Sbf and full restore only takes me 15mins. Here's a tip if u factory wipe before u sbf it makes it go real fast

Your welcome, and 2 kind. This actually explains well my friend. Still Loading ... ? blog:2011-06-14:2nd-init._what_it_is_and_how_it_works

I just read this and didn't really understand it till i read the comments below and someone explained like this...

"Upon reading this for some reason I feel like I'm reading a script for a gangster movie... 2nd unit busts in and shoots everybody up, except for the don behind the bulletproof glass, takes his daughter hostage and trades her for control of the dons entire business. Nice writing cvpcs."
