cloud gone?

Hello. We tried sprint for three days and our service was horrible. So we ported back to verizon. When doing so I was told to do a factory reset on my phone. I called about my cloud pictures and they told me since I ported out and the back and then reset my cloud was deleted. Has anyone else had an issue like this. Thanks

Everyone would. When you close an account (that's automatic when you port out) the entire account - including the cloud storage - is deleted. You're responsible for backing up your own data. (Save it to your computer or laptop. Save it to Google Drive. And save it to MEGA. (They're free, so there's no excuse to not have backups.) See Backing up an Android Device and keep a current backup on at least 2 different places (your computer and a cloud account - I just prefer one cloud account in each hemisphere of the world - if they both go, no one is going to care about backups).
 
Got it. It was archived with Verizon. They were able to reinstate it. They said they hold cloud info for 30 days.
