Planning to root my phone using CM 11. This will be the first time that i will be doing a root. But before that, i've search that CM 11 on the S4 drains more battery than stock touchwiz. Is this True?

I wouldn't think so. It also depends on when people are reporting this. After a fresh flash, the ROM will be doing a lot in the background just setting up with the new kernel and such. So right after a flash is a bad time to report battery drains.

I've read it here Cyanogenmod 11 - reduced battery life on Galaxy S4 - Mobile Devices - Linus Tech Tips

I'm planning to do the easy root of cyanogenmod here. "http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install" is this good? I don't know much about rooting.

I would say make a Nandroid, and flash away. I had no problem with CM and battery life.

So what should i do first? The first link or the 2nd link?

I would get the phone rooted first. The root procedure usually involves flashing a custom recovery. Make a Nandroid, then you should be close to being able to flash a new ROM.

Read the rooting instructions carefully and several times.
