CM6 stable is out

alright I am loading it up now...mainly cause I flashed espresso on to SR RC3 and it ramshackled my phone so Im giving cm6 a shot

There have been reports so far that bluetooth is choppy. Haven't tested that yet. In the process of getting my kernel straightened out for CM6.

King Kernel BFS #1 does not work with this ROM. Looking into koush's kernels now.

Let me know about the kernels as well. The only reason I left CM6 RC3 was because of those kernels not being compatible.

Anyways, just a couple of thoughts:

• Speed. I can notice a difference between this and Virtuous/SkyRaider 3 RC3
• Benchmarks are faster than Sky Raider 3 RC3
• Battery life seems to be dramatically improved from CM6 RC3; not sure why, but it is comparable to the KingX kernels from what I've noticed so far

Still working to get everything just right, but man. I've missed Stock

Best part of cyanogen. Go into Menu --> Settings --> Cyanogen Settings --> User UI you can change the colors of everything in a color picker!!

Yeah from what I've seen nothing works other than his kernels. As of right not you either run 998 or 1.15 which my phone doesn't run stable!! I requested an addition of the 1.113 OC when he gets time, time will tell if he adds it or not. On the stock speeds I score a 30-33 in linpack haven't ran a quadrant score yet. Still getting my phone settled in before attempting that again.

NeoCore: 29.7 (Didn't want to run with a force close at first. Reinstall fixed it.)

I quadrant I noticed on every ROM I've run the highest FPS I could get was 9 on the "dna strand" test. Now I'm getting 13's pretty consistently.

I am extremely impressed so far!

Seems the main issue is what I expected, it was OC'd on 6.0.0 and was causing lockups. Must have been running the 1.15 OC for default!!!

I'm tempted by this ROM. I've never used a vanilla ROM before and this sounds like the one to try if it is indeed truly stable.

Q.. seems smooth so far quick couple vanilla questions tho... I went into cyan settings to change color on the notification bar st it to black and it is not working.. any ideas. Also not all my facebook contacts are synching.. any way to force it.. all in all I think its pretty good so far.

I'm tempted by this ROM. I've never used a vanilla ROM before and this sounds like the one to try if it is indeed truly stable.

So far it has been for me! Notification bar etc can be any color you want it to be also!! Here mine is boring with a black bar. Working on changing some odds and ends to what I want.

There is one thing I have noticed however. I'm not seeing the internal storage. I see the ~700mb of phone storage but not my ringtones etc I had stored on the internal!

Don't know of any themes yet. Weird thing about the internal storage is I can see it in astro and change, move, etc. Just the phone can't see it for some reason!

The camcorder will allow you to change those settings! You have the premade options selected! Open up your camcorder and select the 'Video Quality' button. Its the one right next to 1x, second from the left. Then select custom instead of the pre-made profile defaults. Once you select that all the greyed out options will be available including 720p!!

No problem with the cam help! I always suggest people use Bloo, Bloo - Facebook 1.4.4d Beta - Android app on AppBrain . It seems pretty good plus you get notification etc. I tried finding the "social networker" you where referring too but couldn't find any information on it.

I think that social networker thing was something that was an addon for SR vanilla maybe in goodies file? I dunno read it somewhere. I have regular FB loaded I just got frustrated because I had to manually link each phone contact with FB contact (if the person didnt have number loaded on FB) That is one good thing the sense contact app did well. LEt me know if you get a kernel working I wanna OC this bad boy...1.113 is all mine is good for too, I hit 1287 on Quadrant at stock speed, love to see what it can do. I have had a couple FC w/this Rom but overall its pretty good.

BTW I loaded up Google voice so I could have visual voicemail and it also shows up in the messages app...Is it free to do? I am only doing voice mail.

Koush messaged me on Twitter an hour or so ago, to let me know that the Internal Memory not being seen is a reporting error. And that he will be fixing it soon. So keep your eye out for an update!

I've been playing with 6.0.1 for a couple of hours. No obvious issues, but I haven't checked bluetooth out yet, that had been working fine with RC3 and I hope it continues to work well...I'll find out tomorrow.

I'm using TapaTalk so I can't easily add a link, but there are themes available in the forums on the Cyanogen site. I'm running the blue theme - toy install it just like a ROM, although I had to load it from recovery instead of ROM Manager. I like the looks and the battery meter is awesome.

Linpack as core was consistently 35.
Quadrant wa 1242...not quite as good as RC3.

My cousin who sits across from me at work and has a stock DINC sent me a text this am to help me test the CM6 messaging app. I deleted the thread after it was received. Then I got a text from someone else and I replied within the thread. My cousin got my reply and the person it was intended for never got it....that is NOOOOO good! CM6 is out!

Humm weird. I haven't had this issue either. I've sent at least 40 texts this morning with it to three different people and haven't had an issue. Not sure what to suggest to you either.

CM6 actually ran well for me on my Incredible. However, the lack of working wifi tethering is a deal breaker for me. I use my laptop on the train commuting and connect via my phone. I refuse to go back to PDAnet when a better solution is available.

Q, how are you liking the CM 6.0.1? I am really tempted to try it out. I am running SR RC3 right now, and with no problems. I loaded LaucherPro and beautiful widgets last night and started playing around with my phone. I think I would like a Vanilla rom better. It's amazing how much customization that you can do to the phone. I've read there are some problems with the new CM RC3. Did you test RC3 out at all, or did you go straight to the 6.0.1?

Well I've used it for what 2 or three days now I guess? I'm still on it, does that answer your question?

Seriously I like it alot, highest scores I've had on all the benchies, fast, smooth, problem free. Everything works. One thing I don't like it no compatile kernels for it which kind of sucks, and the kernel that comes with it only has stock speed and 1.15Ghz adjustments. Out of which my phone can't handle the 1.15 speeds.

The only thing I've noticed not working perfectly is the internal 8GB of storage isn't showing. It's there in Astro but the phone itself for some reason doesn't report it as being there. Koush said it's a reporting error and that he is working on a fix for it. From what I've seen on his Twitter real life business has kept him busy this week, so I don't expect news on 6.0.2 until this weekend at the earliest.

But over all, this is a keeper, so much stuff built into it, who needs stinking themes anyway!
