I installed CM7, along with Chevy 800 low volt kernel. I was messing around with the CM7 setting. (settings>CM settings>performance>CPU settings>Max CPU frequency) I am wondering if I should up this to 800 to match the kernel?? I am following the CM7 warning that changes in here might screw this up.

Damn.... Can a mod fix my title please????

"CM7 CPU speed up to match kernel"

Sorry new keyboard and I am still not use to the feel of it.

An 800 Mhz kernel is made to set the CPU at 800Mhz...the settings in CM7 let you change the speed you want it to run at, so if its not at 800Mhz in settings its not running at 800Mhz.

That is what I was thinking. Basically stock says only to run at 500, the kernel allows it to 800, and then CM7 lets you set it to where you want it.

I did notice a little speed difference just putting the kernel on the phone and CM7 running at 600. Lets hope the 800 feels even better.

Any reason to mess with the minimum cpu?

Yeah, the governor will use the low CPU setting when your phone is idle so it helps a lot on battery life to underclock also.

Changed my settings to 800 max and 125 min. Seems to be running really well. I did forget to check the box to restore setting at boot. But now it is all good. With the 125 it seems a little laggy coming out of sleep but that clears up in a second or two. But the 800 and GB runs really well. GB was really laggy running stock. Home screen re draw all the time, slow to respond to touch. But 800 cleared that all up.....hmmm maybe I should try 1000???

Make sure to do back up first, your phone might not be able to handle that much juice and bootloop.

I have CM7 and chevy no1 1000Mhz Low Voltage running on my OG droid and its running great, i have heard of some people running at even higher but at the 1000 i have been experienceing high battery drains when running games or watching vids, but i kinda expected that.

I have read about boot loops on 1+, that is part of the reason I started at 800. Pretty happy at 8, not sure if I want to mess with a good thing

Some peoples phones can handle the high CPU speeds and others can't...it doesn't make sense because its the same hardware lol

I'm sure since there are 1.25ghz kernels, someone is using them. I've never been able to flash anything over 1 without bootloops. ULV, LV, Medium Voltage - didn't matter.

I just flashed chevy no 1 1.25 ulv on my og droid and it works great, no problems yet. And once I locked my screen in portrait mode done have redraws on my adw launcher either

If you bootloop you want to either go up in voltage or down in speed.

Which is unfortunate because I want more speed and can't go up in voltage. 1000 lv is the best I can do. I can't even get a 1100 mv kernel to work. Damn you below average processor!

The highest I've ever ran mine was 1.2Ghz with the stock kernel from Project Elite 4.1 I imagine it was a reg volt, not sure

I've done 1.25 ;)

I haven't tried anything higher than 1.2Ghz (and it was only to run a quadrant) simply because I don't wanna pay retail for a phone after I melt my internals lol

Lol I only run it for a little bit, when playing something that uses flash (heavy flash) or something.
