CM7 or stock Gingerbread?

From using CM7 on my EVO, it has many nice tweaks that are no-brainers on what should be in stock Android. But I do like the peace of mind of using a completely stock build from Google.

Definitely stock people root to get stock so there's no point of rooting if you already have stock, or people root to get wifi tether but yet it comes already on the nexus

While I generally agree, I believe rooted tethering allows for 4g, while the built-in is 3g only. I don't use it enough to care, so stock is fine for me

Sticking with stock until someone gives me a compelling reason to change.

Check out this ROM. It has the advanced settings and extra features found in CM7 but everything else is stock. Stock launcher, stock app drawer...

[CDMA][WORKING][5-28-11][ROM] gingerbread-ns4g-deck [1.2r][2.3.4 Beta] - xda-developers

I've been running this for about a week and I'm loving it. My battery life has improved. Speed really hasnt changed as my phone was blazing before I rooted.

The only issue Ive noticed which may or may not be ROM related is the delay in my screen waking up when I recieve a call. I will hear my phone ring but my screen will remain black. Sometimes I have to press the power button to wake it up. It doesnt happen everytime. I believe its only happened once or twice since I flashed the ROM so I havent made a big deal of it...but thats the only issue I've noticed.
