CM7 RC3

Just to make sure, you checked to make sure that GPS was enabled in the settings correct? I know a couple of times when I flashed I had to manually re-enable GPS.

I also never had any issue with GPS locking on CM7 nightlies been flashing since before RC2 . Im on # 32 as well . If anything locks on faster .

Yea it's on. It still wouldn't surprise me if it was something that simple that I've missed though.

Ok, I flashed to RC3:

then flashed the nightly:

In both situations GPS/Maps/Navigation worked flawlessly.

This is what mine shows. I see my baseband version is completely different, would this be my problem? If so I dont know how to fix it but I'll do some digging for instructions. (sorry, I am pretty new to this)

Glad I could help out. I actually flashed my radio while still running 2.2 just to see if I got any better battery performance.

I don't know of anyone else has noticed or asked or cares but I lost my controls on my notification bar after flashing cm7 rc3. Had them on rc3. Any help? Also did they get rid of a whole bunch of the wall papers? The cm wallpapers seems smaller.

The custom controls or all controls - I did have to readd 1 control, but the defaults were there.

And alas, they only removed 1 wallpaper...

I dont know if you already know this but you might need to go into Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Interface>Notification power widget and check the box next to it.

Ok, I have to share this bit of information.

Just for grins and giggles, on the way home from work today I decided to use Google Navigation just, well, for no reason. Just wanted to play with it. So I put it in my phone holder horizontally and connected the car charger. I always connect the charger when using navigation. So on the way home I get a phone call from a coworker and we chat all the way home. I get home and end the call and the screen goes back to navigation, which I totally forgot was running. My immediate thought was the battery temp is going to be high and the back of the phone is going to be hot. I grabbed the phone out of the holder and the phone was cool to the touch. I looked at battery temp and it was 87 degrees! What you have to understand is that using 2.2 VZW Froyo, that EXACT same scenario would put the battery temp at 105F!! The only difference is I'm running CM7 RC3. What a great ROM!!!!

stuck on splash screen

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but I didn't want to create a separate thread for a related issue.

Anyone having any problems with RC4? I came from the stable version of CM6 and am able to successfully back up my existing rom, then do a wipe and flash RC4. After everything updates (syncing good account, reloading apps through titanium) and I restart it gets stuck on the CM splash screen.

Am I missing a step? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you wipe cache and dalvik before you flashed? If not, that may be the issue.

I re-read the cm forums and noticed that there were directions for upgrading from stable cm6 to a cm7 rc. It recommended the following:

1. Nandroid backup your current rom
2. Update your recovery to the latest available (CWR is my choice)
3. Format system via recovery
4. Wipe/Factory reset
5. Flash CM7 then Google addon

By doing so I not have a different problem. I get to the part to setup your google account account by clicking on the little andriod guy and once you touch the screen it going into a bootloop.

Im going to restore a backup of cm6 for now but would appreciate any additional insight.

Did you restore system data with Titanium? That might be your problem. Only restore app's and or appdata. Not system data.

Also, what version of CWR are you using? 3.0.0.8 is the latest. There are issues with the two earlier versions causing the result you are getting now.
