I know everyone has been waiting for ICS for our phone, and surfing around the web today, I found an old thread on a different site where rgh135 posted up a version of CM9 (4.0.4) for the VM701, currently, very little works, but because it boots, now it is just a matter of software drivers (not my forte, but hopefully someone here has ideas!)
Currently what I have found to work is;
Audio
QWERTY Keyboard
Menu, Back and Search Keys
Screen Rotation with keyboard only
Waking from Sleep
Cellular Service (Phone only)
Partially working;
Touchscreen (has a cursor you have to drag around and then double click the screen to click, kinda gets annoying)
Screen Resolution (Like 10 Pixels short of the bottom of the screen, Idk why)
Not Working;
Wifi
Bluetooth
Data Connections (1x and 3G)
Home Button
Tilt Sensor
Keyboard Backlight (some jays are mis-mapped too...)
I don't know, tell me!
To flash;
(Optional): Install Cannibal Open Touch Recovery (It is like a mix of TWRP and ClockworkMod, very nice!!!)
1. Nandroid backup your current setup in recovery (TWRP, ClockworkMod, Cot, or your own )
2. Wipe /System (Factory Reset)
3. Wipe /Data
4. Wipe /Cache
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache
6. Flash CM9 VM701.zip
7. (Optional) Flash GAPPs
8. Reboot
9. Profit
