CMupdater has stopped error

I have been running CM10 on an SD card on my Nook Color for several months now. I have been very happy with it. But just a couple of weeks ago the message "Unfortunately cmupdater has stopped" popped up. It comes up randomly. Any ideas why and how to correct this? Thanks.

I think I have found the answer. Got to Settings, then About Tablet, then CM Updates, then Check for Updates. Change to Manual. I did this and I have not had a popup since.
