I'm brand new to the smartphone era. Like only three days brand new. I've been searching for a remedy for my problem all over the internet, and find that I don't have a good understanding of most of the lingo / jargon... so if you can help, couch your response in the "dummy" range.

I have notification for four new emails in my Comcast email on my Incredible 2. They do not appear in my inbox, nor do they appear in any other email folder on the phone. Additionally, there are no unopened emails in any folder with my Comcast account on my home computer.

What am I missing... or better... what have I done wrong?

Maybe nothing...can you clear the notifications by swiping down from the notifications bar? There should be a button you can tap to "clear" the notifications.Do the four emails show up in your Comcast account on your PC?

Are you using the stock email app? If so, I highly recommend K-9 Mail, which is free.

Here is what might have happened.

Your comcast email account recieved some emails. Comcast pushed the notifications and the new emails to your phone. You then read the new emails on another device, i.e. your computer. Comcast email then flagged the new emails as read (since you read them on your computer) and pushed that information to your phone during a sync, therby showing no unread messages on your phone.

However, the new mail notifications in android are not automatically removed unless you actually open the email app on your phone, or manually clear the notifications.
