What timing haha. Obviously iPhone is implied but what were you on before?Well, since I just switched back, yes. I'll be sticking with Android.
I just switched from the iPhone 15 pro Max a week ago. What timing haha. Obviously iPhone is implied but what were you on before?
I have the 15 pro max with ios 26 beta which is pretty good, looks like yesterday's update I got is an official build or release candidate.I just switched from the iPhone 15 pro Max a week ago.
You were considering Apple?I did think of a huge against Apple even though they were up for consideration. The glass always breaks on those things.

Honestly and I can't believe it, I was briefly. I wish it was clickbait.clickbait![]()
Which Samsung device are you referring to regarding lack of update support? All the flagship devices starting with the S24 series will get 7 years of support. Nothing except Pixels and iPhones got that much support in the past. https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-smartphones-seven-years-android-one-ui-updates-eligibility/Honestly and I can't believe it, I was briefly. Google as endlessly discussed here is what it is and won't change and the change we do see isn't for the better.
Samsung, the next best thing, update promise has been broken and haven't kept up their end of the deal. Designs have stagnated and something as simple as filling the camera ring bumps in with a bigger battery instead of making the phone thinner would be a big step alone.
Apple was being considered because they are the Nvidia Shield of maintaining hardware with software updates as well as only needing to essentially optimize for one device.
If I wasn't in the US, there would be other great options but nothing else on our market is appealing from either a technological standpoint or what you get for how much they charge.
There's nothing wrong with that , as I'm an Android fan and have been using an iphone since first introduced.Honestly and I can't believe it, I was briefly. I wish it was clickbait.

They gave us monthly updates on time when it was first announced and now we're lucky to get them every month at all.Which Samsung device are you referring to regarding lack of update support? And I'd go for that but they are too fragile and delaminate. If it werent for that, I'd go likely Trifold or Rollable. There's nothing wrong with that , as I'm an Android fan and have been using an iphone since first introduced.
Yeah design wise it's a stale mate can only do so much that's why Foldable are available and probably triple Fold coming.
They never said how often the updates would happen, just that the device would be supported with updates for 7 years. It could be worse. I had a Moto X Pure Edition that got the Nougat update the day I got rid of it. Official Nougat was released in August 2016. The MXPE got Nougat in May 2017. I am running Android 16 beta since August 2025 on my S24 Ultra, and official from Google only came out in June 2025. So to me 2 months is much better than 9 months. They gave us monthly updates on time when it was first announced and now we're lucky to get them every month at all.
Also didn't they backpedal and say it will be 'x'-major updates and with intermittent updates?

But still, flattening the back to add a bigger battery isn't too much to ask, especially if they are making it thinner each year. Oh and more expensive with nothing more of value added.
Maybe I'm just no longer seeing the value in flagships of any kind.
I guess that's true but they need to adjust the "we are the good guys" wording. 7 years worth of OS updates. They never said how often the updates would happen, just that the device would be supported with updates for 7 years. and this is why I haven't taken a run at Pixel. I'm always tempted (something different, you know) but then I read posts on this forum and comments on AA, AP, 9-5, and am reminded that the grass is still not greener on the other side.I'd rather have it be polished than be a Pixel guinea pig of Googles
I just never got a Pixel because I don't like stock Android. When I used Nexus and Moto I needed Nova to make my devices the way I wanted them. Now that Nova is going away I don't have any idea what launcher I'd use if I got a Pixel. Samsung OneUI is usable for me with the use of Good Lock.and this is why I haven't taken a run at Pixel. Same. Although I'm using Nova launcher until it stops working. After that I'll probably find a different launcher to use or One UI. Pixels just aren't as polished as Samsung, imo.I just never got a Pixel because I don't like stock Android. When I used Nexus and Moto I needed Nova to make my devices the way I wanted them. My biggest gripe while seemingly contradictory to my previous statement with stock, they mess with it too much. Not speaking features but visuals.I just never got a Pixel because I don't like stock Android. When I used Nexus and Moto I needed Nova to make my devices the way I wanted them. I refused to consider Samsung devices when TouchWiz was a thing. That's how much I hated it.My biggest gripe while seemingly contradictory to my previous statement with stock, they mess with it too much. Not speaking features but visuals.
Yes they are fresh but it's like relearning where everything is and how it's like using a different skin.
GoodLock is as I've put it the Root/exposed/magisk features I was missing. Samsung a very ironically sent IMO having the worst skins being TouchWiz to one of best, OneUI.
That said, I couldn't go back to stock without major tweaking and I've been out of that game for so long and things are so cat and mouse these days, it's not something I want to dabble with anymore.

Samsung has come a long way since TouchWiz but there were some pretty neat features, Tizen was written on the wall how long it would last .I refused to consider Samsung devices when TouchWiz was a thing. That's how much I hated it.
I liked Tizen on the watches.. lolSamsung has come a long way since TouchWiz but there were some pretty neat features, Tizen was written on the wall how long it would last .
