Coming back to the fold with a few questions

My Note3 will be arriving tomorrow and I can finally put my iPhone 5 to bed.

My main concern would be the full switch from iOS to Android. I've heard some horror stories with messages not being sent/received and contacts being lost. I do know that the SIM cards are different size and my Note is coming with a new SIM installed.

The question for the day is, " Do I need to take my current SIM from my iPhone 5 and install it within the Note 3 to maintain functionality across platforms, or can I just transfer contacts and rebuild everything onwards."

Just wanted to ask the gurus here before I was forced to buy an adapter for the SIM and be waiting even longer to switch up phones

Thanks in Advance!!!

If you never used iMessage I'd imagine you have nothing to worry about. If you run into any problems call your carrier and have them reset you on their network. As far as the SIM Card goes I would switch that for a new one. Probably doesn't really matter but a fresh slate is always nice.

Sims are not the same size. So you will need to get to activate the new one.

iMessage would only be an issue if you where using it and had your phone number linked to it.

Where are your contacts currently stored? if ICloud you can export them into Gmail. Usually photos do not come with the export so photos would have to be added back to contacts.

Welcome to the fold TBDGR.

While not completely painless, it's not that bad a converstion. There are a couple good threads on iphone to android conversion here as well as some good external sites that walk you through it. Google will take good care of you.

Good luck!

Nice home screen. :)

I feel obligated to ask if you'll be making a new username each time you get a new phone? ;) :D
