coming from a windows phone 8

Hi there, so i have a question for you all. I am new to android, i have had a windows phone since they came out. I am truly loving my nexus 5 except, the best thing about the windows phone is their messaging app. I have tried chomp, textra, go sms and handcent. Textra will not allow me to send pics, I have tried everything. I actually love chomp but have a question. I am wondering if anyone else has this issue. When i send a pic or receive one it looks great, but if i click on the picture to look at it larger, it becomes very faded and dull. I am not sure if there is a way to fix this issue or if maybe there is a better messaging app you suggest. This is my only regret so far switching over to android. Thanks so much for anything you can tell me, I appreciate it!

Welcome to Android Central! Is there a problem with sending photos via Hangouts (as an MMS message)? The photos I send and receive this way look fine.
