Coming from iPhone need suggestions

Getting people to download a app is next to impossible also. I gave up.

Two billion android and iphone users in the world downloaded and use whatsapp. Maybe it just american iphone users mentality. But they download other apps like no tomorrow. Mind boggling indeed

Lot of my family members have iPhones, they like to video chat once in awhile because they live in different states , I tell them Google duo otherwise we don't video chat , you know what they all have Google duo
I'm bad though , I do have a iPhone but wanted see if they would do it
Been Google duo ever since

Google Duo is BETTER! But, getting friends and family (professionally we almost exclusively use Teams or Zoom) hasn't just been challenging, it's been impossible. I try twice per year, usually in the fall (when I get a new Galaxy device!) and in late spring. Most have stopped even answering. So, I figured as the tech-junkie in my groups it was up to me to adapt. I don't dislike Apple or the iPhone (quite the contrary, to be honest) so iPhone it is until chat apps are ubiquitous in the US. Shame though, unless I'm texting, talking or exercising, iPhone is a very expensive paper-weight most of the time.

I just cannot understand this chat issue in US. People complaining I don’t have an iPhone in group chats… WHAT???

Here in Brazil literally everybody uses WhatsApp. You don’t have choice, it is WhatsApp or nothing. And I hate it, since I really hate WhatsApp and everything FB. But, at least I can communicate easier then this mess happening in US.

That said, I like iMessage more and when I’m using my iPhone (I’m using it quite a lot, since I made it my no-workdays device) I tend to use only it, since my wife has an iPhone too. For videocalls, well… I don’t make videocalls.

I personally don't like the square watch look. I would take my cheap gw active 2 over apple any day.

Same with me, I change back and forth between android and iphone all the time, hell i have an iMac, iPad, HomePods, appletvs etc, it just bothers me that year after year the hardware stays the same with incremental updates. Apples ecosystem is second to none that's for sure but they are struggling with everything hardware related.

I couldn't agree more with you about ecosystem vs hardware!

Since the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I have refused to buy any Apple hardware (other than the Watch 7) with my own money. Fortunate that my company will provide me a mobile phone so they provide the 13 Pro that I use. My own money goes to the more forward thinking technology found in, for now, the Z Fold 3 and such.
