I'm coming from iOS. WIth iOS, visual voicemail is built into the dialer. I know pure android has this built in but it appears Samsung did not include this feature. What are some recommendations for a visual voicemail app? I'm on T-Mobile

I use Google voice as well. Mostly for the free transcription. Youmail is good as well.

Tmobile Visual Voice mail app comes pre-installed with most if not all their branded phones.

Youmail is good. I've used that for the past year.

I've been meaning to try YouMail as my Google Voice has been a bit inconsistent lately. How accurate do you find the voice to text transcriptions overall? Can you specify the type of notification you get when a new voicemail arrives, or specify multiple options? (i.e. notify by text, by email, etc).

Google Voice is what I always use. You can use only the Voice Mail features if you want. That is what I do.

I've used Google voice forever. Verizon had 6 hours lag on voice mail coming (back with the OG Droid). The second one I had to restart my phone to access. Then tmobile voice hasn't worked for me.

With Google voice you can check on your desktop email. This worked when a phone died and I was waiting for a replacement.
