Let's start by saying that this is my first Samsung device in several years.

That said, two options I really liked on my LG devices was the home screen carousel and the screen door tap to turn the screen off and on.

Unless I a missing something, is there an options like these Samsung?

hi,there is a tap to wake screen option and as to lock the phone you can use goodlock 2019 with gestures to lock the screen.as for the carousel i cant comment because i dont use any before.

I thought about dusting off Nova Launcher and giving it a go again. Just thought maybe I was missing an option somewhere.

But I do love the new Samsung experience over LG. Last Samsung device I had was still on TouchWiz and absolutely hated it.

Nova launcher I believe has those functions. Give it a shot. I personally rock the stock One UI launcher. It's quite good and easy to use. And this is coming from an ex Pixel user.

Yeah the last Samsung phone I had was the Note 8 and it was a good phone but the software skin just put me off enough to return it.

Though with the Galaxy S10, the new UI I think it's great and better than Google's Pixel UI which is buggy and slows down really bad just after a few months.

Try the nova launcher and see how you go.

Personally I think custom UIs are improving and are already good enough to warrant not needing most launchers. If you really want a good launcher, these are my recommendations:

-General customisation: Nova Launcher

-Closer to stock Android: Action Launcher

-Best for business/work: Microsoft Launcher

-Simplest, totally free and no clutter: Evie launcher

I suspect many already know this but I hope it helps

Glad to see you came from L(ow) G(rade) to Samsung. I've always felt that LG wanted to be Samsung, but just never got there.

Samsung's One UI is not without issues, but it is a tremendous improvement in every way over Touchwiz. A lot of techies now probably wouldn't argue against running One UI as it is a much more polished interface. I ran it for 5 weeks on my S10 after I bought it, only changing to Nova launcher simply because I wanted different icon packs. One UI is very much a serviceable and generally pleasant interface.
