About 6 months ago, I rooted and flashed CommRom 1.3, and it has been absoulety perfect, until a few weeks ago... I have voltage regulator and Juice Defender (? My wife put the voltage regulator on after I rooted her phone and got her on this site) Voodoo kernel that came with the link... I am running GO Launcher and GO SMS, honeycomb theme from GO as well... I do have custom launcher icons, beautiful widgets for my time and weather, probably very similar to what a lot of you guys are running.

My issue is that over the last month or so, my phone is progressively more and more constipated. It takes 5 or 6 seconds to run something, but once its up and running, its usually ok (especially Opera mini.)

Tonight, I'm kinda fake assed bootlooping... Phone boots, try to apply my launcher/theme/msgr, and I dont even get a force close, the phone just reboots. BUT I was able to send a text through the stock msgr (according to the phone) Its black friday, she is out, so I really have no idea if she recieved it or not. Its not really a true bootloop, because it wont reboot until I try to do something that isnt stock CommRom, or so it seems to me.

I'm fully backed up, I'm getting ready to completly wipe everything but my SD card and reflash the same setup I have now. Has this happened to anyone else? Its like software erosion... How did you fix it? Is wiping my phone going to fix it???

Please, share your wisdom guys, and thanks in advance.

I began having almost the exact same problems on my fascinate running comm rom 1.3 as well. Running for six months with no problems and then started having strange reboots, programs taking forever to launch, and sometimes not launching at all, but not force closing. Sometimes the startup process would hang at the "Android" screen and require me to pull the battery 3-4 times before a successful reboot. Then my phone lost the ability to rotate the screen to landscape mode. Lot's of missed calls and very poor battery life. This was on froyo comm rom 1.3, comavolt voodoo kernel and EC09 radio.

I then backed everything up and Oden'd back to stock ED05 and reflashed Comm Rom, Comavolt but left the ED05 radio. Everything was back working again, but I still was getting missed calls. I then came back here after quite some time off and saw all the great work being done with the various Gingerbread leaks. I was hesitant after reading about all the SD cards getting borked with EC09, then I was directed to the EH09 and EI20 GB leaks, CM7 etc. As I was doing my reading a new GB leak came on the scene over at XDA.

It's the EH03 leak that is suspected to be OTA'd by Verizon at some point. I flashed the stock EH03 Oden package and Atlas v2.2 pit file that repartitions the phone and let it boot up. Flashed a custom blue CWM3 recovery, booted into recovery and flashed the rooted Superclean version of EH03, a few patches and then a custom oc/uv voodoo kernel called Lean Kernel by imoseyon after running a kernel cleanup script.

My phone is now flying!!! I've not experienced a single missed call in almost 3 days! I would typically miss 3 calls per day. My battery life is nothing short of spectacular and the cell signal and download speed have greatly increased. The phone just feels snappier now as well, and very stable! I can't believe how much better Gingerbread is over Froyo. I'll never go back!!!

(full tar package/radio)(EH03){odin/heimdall} Verizon 2.3.5 TWGB (cwr ver as well)

(Rom){EH03}[11.23] SuperClean3 V0.3

[Kernel][Gb][Tw][Eh09/ei20][Voodoo] Leankernel: Minimalistic Kernel (V2.0.1, 11/17/11)

[SCRIPT]Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script - 4.0 [MIUI/CM7 and SAMSUNG] [13.11.11]

I'm hesitant to go gingerbread because of all the SD issues, BUT I really want to. I'm going to be sleeping on the couch if I fry my card (thats already been established before I rooted) she thinks "dont fix it if its not broken"

I think I am going to take the plunge, but I admit I am still rather new at this. I'm rather apprehensive about turning my phone into an even bigger paperweight.

There are zero SD card issues with EH03. It is the only GB Rom I have been able to successfully use with no problems at all. ComRom is no longer supported, so you're out of luck with help on that one. I highly recommend going to EH03. Battery life is through the roof for me, the overall feel of the phone is faster, and it's Gingerbread!

The SD card issues were with the the first leaked GB EC09 roms. The newer GB roms based on EH09 and EI20, and now the newest EH03 GB leak do not have the same problems damaging the SD card. I've not seen any accounts of it and mine is fine.

Take some time to read through the threads that I linked to. Everything you need to know is contained there to help you get the most stable GB leak to date. Like I said, the guys over at XDA do great work and they believe that EH03 may eventually be officially released for the Fascinate.

My phone setup the way I have it now is running better, more stable, and faster than it has since I got it back in Oct. 2010. It's how it should have always been. Going on 36 hours since I last charged it and I've still got 39% on the battery! That's NEVER happened before!
