Completely naked Evo users, please read

I have a screen protector on.I just feel better with it there.I am worried about scratching the camera Lens, so I ordered a case that is supposed to add just about no bulk and it has lens protection. No harm in seeing if I like it, if not,I will just put it away for a rainy day.

No case or anything here. I have TEP so everything is covered by that. Crack the screen, get scratches, etc. I'll just go get a replacement from Sprint.

I have the SGP anti-fingerprint screen protector on my Evo because fingerprints just drive me nuts. I tried to go a few weeks without one but having to constantly wipe my phone down just wasn't my thing.

I would really like to go without a case but getting scratches on my phone that could easily be prevented just seems pretty silly to me. These smartphones are mini-computers now and I just feel that you have to protect your investment.

got my EVO on launch day, had a screen protector on it for about 2hrs before it annoyed me so much that I peeled it off. screen looks as good as new. used a Seidio case from about 2wks after purchase until about a month ago. I love feel of the phone naked.

i have a commuter case from otterbox. its not too bulky,i like it so far.phones only a week old tho.we will see.

I came from hero. I have always used Seido cases and love them. Never thought I needed a screen protector, until I got a 1/4 to 1/2 inch scratch on my Evo screen. I have no idea how it got there either seeing as how I use the Seido case and holster. Wish I would have gotten the protector. The Evo screen does scratch.

I bought my Evo on Day 1. I tried a couple of cases/covers but found they added too much bulk to the device so I got rid of them after about 2 weeks and since then have carried it naked.

It stays in my left-front pocket and absolutely nothing else goes in there. My keys stay in my right-front pocket and I just am very careful handling it. On my daily walks, I regularly take it out to check my time/mileage (Cardio-Trainer) or change the song I'm listening to (Power Amp) as I walk, rain or shine. So far, it remains mint, just like it left the box on June 4.

I love the look of it as it is and don't want to cover up all that engineering with any case/cover/screen protector or anything else.

The longer I have my Evo, the more I love it.

I had a launch day evo that was never dropped had several small scratches all over the screen. I live right by the beach so I'm assuming its from sand somehow. That launch day device was replaced after only two weeks because of screen lifting issues. I didn't take any chances with the replacement. Put a screen protector and the chromatics carbon fiber by phantomskinz. It looks and feels perfect.

You can watch all the screen scratching videos you want to make you feel better about the screen but the reality is that the screen is scratch resistant not scratch proof

Im not a fan of cases or screen protectors anymore. For starters, I have insurance through Best Buy so no need for a case or screen protector. Plus, I had a hard case on my iPhone once and the case scratched it badly. I have heard stories about people with screen protectors getting dust trapped underneath and scratching the screen. It's. Worse damaging your phone after paying lots of money on items that should protect. I will take my chances going naked. If my phone breaks, I will get a replacement through the insurance.

You can always claim it lost and fork up the hundred bucks for a new one

But they won't replace it for cosmetic reasons.

ESRP will. Take an EVO with a cracked screen to a service center and they will replace it. That's cosmetic. Most of the time, the screen still works.

Minor scratches they might not fix. If you're really upset about it, just drop it. Ask them how much you have to damage it to get a replacement. It's all covered.

Fifty-Fifty Solution...I have an anti-glare screen protector without a case and I find that it does the job...In addition, I'm using the 3500 Seido that provides a very sturdy and solid backing - keeping everythinig in a holster...

No case, no screen protector, but I do use a belt clip holster rather than carrying it around in my pocket.

And as for scratches and cracks -- it's just dumb luck. I've dropped my Evo dozens of times, on hardwood floors, carpeting and linoleum as well as one drop on a concrete sidewalk. Only the latter scuffed up the corner a bit, but the screen was undamaged. Other people drop it once with a case and screen protector and the screen shatters into a million pieces. I have insurance, so I'll take my chances. If I had to, I'd go for the case over the screen protector -- the latter makes the phone look like hot garbage.

Case verses naked

Out of curiosity what EVO users actually go naked (the phone not you). I ask because I love my phone and the soft case that I have isn't bulky at all but I dont want it to fall and die on me. Ive had my EVO for 4 months now and its dropped once with the case on. But is the greater feeling of a naked phone worth the risk of it falling.

I have the seidio innocase active 2, and I actually think the phone feels more solid with it on. I have dropped it twice in the 2 months I have had the phone, and I can be certain that the phone would have shattered both times without the case. I NEED it.

To be honest I really like my EVO naked but after a dropped it a couple of times I invested in the otterbox case....only adds a little bulk to the phone and it still fits intp the HTC belt case I purchased with i first got the phone

I always go naked with all of my phones. Don't know why. I guess I just love the out of the box look and feel. Of course I'll be upset if I drop it and crack the screen.
