Completely torn - htc one, moto x, or galaxy s4

None of the above. It's a bit larger (so if the Note is up your alley, you'll LOVE this), but I'm currently sporting the LG Optimus G Pro.

8-core Snapdragon 600, tons of RAM and memory, SD slot, replaceable 3100mAh battery, 13mpix camera, it's a BEAST of a phone.

5.5" screen that is about the boldest, brightest, most beautiful thing you ever saw.

$100 on contract.

based on past experience with all the brands , I would go : first, htc. second, lg. third, moto. last, Sammy.

Actually I find the HTC one camera better than the Moto X in most situations. Even with the new update.

I own all three devices. Currently on my Moto x. I like them all for different reasons.

HTC one - amazing build quality. Insanely great display that has a record breaking 468ppi. Combine that with the dual front facing stereo speakers and you have the best media consumption phone on the market. Super snappy. Sense is nice and you can also run vanilla android on it. Very easy to unlock the boot loader and install custom Roms and kernels. True colors on the super lcd3 display.

Moto X - great size. Insane battery (6 hours of screen time throughout the day) or 4 hours or two days. Unique innovative features. Mainly the active display/active notifications and touch less control features. There are two cores dedicated to these functions; contextual computing and gesture recognition as sell as natural language processing and voice recognition. Serious software optimizations going on here. Runs as smooth and even smoother than most quad core phones.

S4 - mine is the GPE running stock android. This is my least favorite out of these three. The super amoled display is super saturated, almost to a fault. I prefer a more true color pallet such as that on the HTC one display. This device has the largest display of the there. I'd put this as number three out of these three devices.

I based my picks on the brand itself. however, I would agree with you , slotting the LG 2 or LG Pro between HTC and Moto.

My personal experience: One has way better call quality, and radio stability than S4. Sense is way more mature UI than touch wiz. One performs much smoother and faster. Boom sound is a huge plus.
S4 has slightly better battery life, SD expansion.
I would go with One over any phone currently on the market.

Slightly better battery? Doubt I would've gotten anywhere near this had I chosen the One over the S4

Corrupt how? I went from 100% charge this morning at around 6:30 A.M. and the phone died at around 6 P.M. with that screen time :P

The note 3 wipes every phone out of here! BUT.. Your picking between S4, Moto, And One... I only played with the S4 and One, I personally would choose the S4 Fantastic Battery Life, Expandable Memory, Removable Battery, Beast Camera, The lag is hardly noticeable hate that people need to exaggerate on how bad it lags.

S4 all the way.. IMO don't need people jumping down my throat now. :D

Yeah they are, I can see them just fine. Are you on your phone?

I can see them on the phone, my SP2 browser was having some issue.
That's pretty good, I get pretty good battery life too pull screen time of 4-5 hours if I run it down in 10-12 hours. If I drag it to 24-30 hours total, I get about 3-3.5 hours.

Same here, I can get 3-4 hours spanned over 2 days or 4-6 hours during one day. Previous best was 5H14M, no idea what I did differently today that improved it almost an hour. Brightness was the same, mobile data was on for the same amount of time, killed apps like I would on any day. Strange...

First of all, the camera on the One is not a bad camera. Have you considered the LG G2? Just got my wife that phone and it's a beast. If you like a reliable, clean, and professional look and feel, then I would go with the HTC One. If you prefer tons of software add ons, then stick with the LG or Samsung.

I could be network, tmobile LTE has been constantly improving, so is my battery life. Now I get LTE (25-45 Mbps) down almost everywhere. I switched 3 mos ago from Sprint, I wish I had paid EFTs sooner than later.

ETF right? Could be, just got LTE where I live (Had it within a few blocks from here but my house was 4G full bars, now LTE full bars) although I was on Wi-Fi a good percentage of the time.

Well S4 battery used to slightly better, with 4.3 update, One topped S4 in battery life too despite having smaller battery.
I have had better, this is just today, I watched a movie on Netflix and couple episodes of a show which kills battery faster, still got 6 hours of screen on time and longer over all.

Here's one from today, when my battery was 2% left it had screen on time of 7:05, with 17:23 of total. I hope you get the idea.

Well now that the nexus 5 is announced and that thing is beast mode (and at a nice price everything considered) - that's what I'm going with. :) Thanks for your help guys!

Just imagine the S4 when it gets the 4.3 update :P

The one consistently goes from 6am to 11pm with about 30-40% charge left unless I do more than an hour of gaming and I'm on sprint so extra battery drain with CDMA.
