Computer can't read phone files anymore.

I have always been able to read the files on my phone from my computer via USB ever since I got it, but suddenly, I can't anymore. I've tried with different cables and it doesn't work. There used to be a notification on top which allowed me to decided whther I wanted to share the files or not, but it doesn' even appear anymore. The phone is just charging.

What's your phone model? There are many causes and solutions to this problem. If you have an SD card on your phone, you may remove it and reboot your phone to see what will happen.
