I did google this quite a bit before posting, please forgive the noobness....
On my new L3, whether I view Manage Applications or Storage Use, I see basically the same thing:
- System memory (~175MB total)
- Internal memory (1GB total)
- RAM (~271MB total)
I installed just a couple of apps, noticed they didn't use any of the 1GB, and shortly after got a low memory message. I noticed that for the downloaded apps only there is a "move to internal" option. I did that and noticed that some of the 1GB got chewed up as expected, but the numbers still don't make sense. Taking Angry Birds as an example, under System Memory it shows it using 3.41MB, under internal memory it shows it using the same 3.41MB (yet when I moved it I saw the internal memory used go up by like 34MB).
I'm guessing here that "RAM" is what we traditionally think of as memory on a desktop PC, while "System Memory" and "Internal Memory" are like the hard drives?
Why when I moved the apps to "Internal Memory" is the amount of space used wrong, and why are they still using up space under "System Memory"?
