I am a Network Engineer for the core internet infrastructure.
# How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.
Far too many times a day (10+)
# How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.
Mainly by not being an iPhone, and by being on a REAL network.

As an aside I have this case and need not be considered for the prize. Im not 100% impressed with the quality as the inside lining has already worn off in some places and does shed quite a bit and gets in the phone just like pocket lint. Also the exterior leather (mine being orange) in about a month is already wearing and the color is wearing off. I wouldn't think im abusing or heavily using this case. Just mainly use it while at work.

trying to win the pimp case

1. Profession - Convience Store Clerk/Sales
2. I visit the site several times daily checking out the news and reading forums
3. i was a faithful wm user for a long time started with ppc6700 to the 6800 to the touch pro and to be honest i thought it was average to get about 4 hours max battery time and then i got the droid which last me all day and all the apps available for it and the speed of the phone was a huge difference than wm. I can play games, surf the net, and talk on my phone without worrying about it dying

[*]Your profession and industry (student, sales, retail, software, etc).

I work for Best Buy, specifically in the Geek Squad Repair end.

[*]How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.

I visit Android Central daily, well actually almost hourly. I like the environment and the people around the forums.

[*]How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.

The push gmail continues to make my day productive, while the MarketPlace continues to give me fun things to do!

1. Student and government drone

2. Several times a day and even more on weekends. Love the up-to-date information.

3. Has replaced my iPod touch in almost every aspect except music. Having schedule, email, facebook, maps and games all in one bundle is great.

My Reply

1. Your profession and industry (student, sales, retail, software, etc).
I am a nurse, taxi driver, accountant, teacher, referee, maid, chef and mom! Oh, and when I'm not doing all that I am an office manager! :-)

2. How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.
I visit at least twice daily - I love the forums and knowledge sharing! As a new Moto Droid user I can use all of the help I can get, something the forums have definitely provided!

3. How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.
I am a Blackberry convert (dramatic pause for applause :D) and the Droid has simply made it more FUN to be productive. I still get the email, calendar and task sync but I also get to throw in some FUN... something Blackberry isn't too good with. I'm loving the great apps. And I was COMPLETELY blown away by the hi-def YouTube videos, something I didn't even know was possible!

1 retail in a grocery store
2 about every 4 hours i love to read the forums. "i just got my droid today"
3 i can see how this phone will keep me better organized with i quick look of the cal and knowing what im suppose to be doing. that is if im not playing with all the other features all day. he he

1. I'm a telecommuting tech support manager for a web hosting company.

2. I've had my Droid for about two weeks, and I keep up with Android Central daily via RSS.

3. Having a phone as powerful as the Droid is liberating! My elderly neighbor needed me to take her to the doctor the other day, and I was able to work from the doctor's waiting room (via ConnectBot for SSH and AndChat for IRC). Couldn't do that on my old BB Curve!

Sympathy round: I ordered a Sena Ultraslim case a few days ago and received it yesterday... and tonight, my dog chewed it up :(

Your profession and industry (student, sales, retail, software, etc).
- I am a student in Film Production and I work as a Systems Analyst/Engineer for a data center.

How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.
- About 20x a day. I'm a news junkee. I love to tweak my devices, drool over whats new, and learn things I didn't. AC provides that better than any site so far.

How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.
- Well I came from a Blackberry so it's all the same things (email, communications, etc) but with a much more open device. So I'm playing with various Rooted ROM's (which unlike a leaked BB release actually have new fun things), and applications constantly.

Plus with the 3G EVDO rA connection, Facebook, Twitter, 5MP camera, and video I can snap pics of whatever I'm out and about doing with the family and have them in multiple places quickly.

1. I am a software engineer who writes utility billing software
2. I am on the site probably every couple hours during the day
3. I use my Droid for everything now. It's my calendar, my email, my phone, my gps, and most importantly my gaming device for trips to the "library."

1. I an a firefighter and work as a company officer for a fire department 6 miles outside Chicago. I also had been working a side buisness as a service repair technician for a large retail conglomerate (buisness has been slow) and I vollunteer as a fire service instructor for a fire academy far outside the metropolis where I live (my way of giving back to the career I LOVE).

2. I visit Android Central at least once a day either mobile or from the desktop. What like most is the level of knowledge and friendly answers to questions that easily help the average person understand thier android smart phone (unlike my experience at CB while I was a BB user).

3. My andriod phone of course allows me to sync my busy calendars and share easily with my spouce (who now has an adroid phone). The app market is hands down the most awesome market place to allow an android phone user to customize thier phone to fit your needs, whatever they may be (my BB was only CORPERATE FRIENDLY). Not to mention that during down time the internet is fast fast fast. :D

I have one (1) Ultraslim Sena Motorola Droid case to give to a lucky forum member.

The Ultraslim case is free of clips, clasps, and buckles. It?s made of high quality leather and fits the Droid perfectly without adding too much weight or thickness. The inside is lined with soft suede like material, and the stitching is of the highest quality. This case also includes a soft carrying bag that doubles as a cleaning cloth.

I will select one random post on Sunday February 21st that best descibes the following:

  1. Your profession and industry (student, sales, retail, software, etc).

  2. How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.

  3. How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.

Good luck!

Cory

P.S. -- Winner must reside in the US.

1. I am a cook at a local diner, which I use to pay my way through college as a double major in business/public speaking. The diner specializes in senior citizen return customers, and it's one of those nasty food-industry jobs I dread as a teen, but it pays the bills, so I can't really complain.

2. I visit android central 2-3 times a day. I enjoy learning more and more about my Droid, the android software, and everything that goes with it. This is my first smart phone, and I want to know as much as I can about it and make it as useful/enjoyable as I can. I am glad the people here are so knowledgeable!

3. First of all, I am one of those terrible students who uses my smart phone in class to browse the web and do things I shouldn't be doing in class. I use it as an MP3 player as my iTouch was useless without the 3.0 software now that I refuse to download. I love the ability to send picture and video message. I use it to shop online and as a scheduler. Basically, it reduces my need for a laptop, which is quite a burden in college, especially when they get stolen quite often.

1. I am a high school student finishing up my senior year of school.

2. I check out Android Central on the daily since it is set as my homepage, and I love reading about news and updates for my Moto Droid.

3. My Droid has been very productive to my life. Helping me keep my schedule in task, setting alarms on which days I have important presentations to do, and being able to stay connected to my email for I keep in touch with a lot of my teachers and friends through this. It's also great when I have some free time to surf the web, stay connected with Pandora to listen to all my favorite jams, stay updated on Facebook and just all the other applications that I have applied on my device. The games so far have been very entertaining and there is still so much more to come. I just love my Droid! (:

Agreed..... I have enjoyed reading each and every post! There's still time to enter, if you haven't done so already.

Wow!
Great thread.
It's quite interesting to see how everyone uses the Droid in their everyday lives, as well as how the Droid has made it better. :)

Everyone:

All of your entires/posts were much appreciated. As stated above, I enjoyed reading each and every one of them! To avoid bias, and to make things a little easier, I have used random.org to help me select our lucky winner. That said:

Congratulations to JorgeOlivera!!!

Please PM me with your shipping information & I will send you your case right away!

  1. Your profession and industry (student, sales, retail, software, etc).
I'm a student. (High school  Looking for a job)
  2. How often you visit Android Central and what you like best about it.
I visit everyday on my free time. Absolutely love these forums. Love the whole small factor, and how everyone is kind and respectful, no matter who you are. Everyone gets along and welcomes you with open arms, keeping an open mind at the same time :)
  3. How your Droid has made your days more productive and fun.
The Droid has made my life a lot better. Has allowed me to get back into the smartphone world and the browser allows me to access the internet efficiently, which is great since I no longer have access of it at home. The openess of the droid is just great, no matter what. I see it taking a huge climb up the mountain and taking it's rightful place above the dictatorship that we call Apple.
