Just got this new LG V30 and I mostly have it setup so far. I came from a windows phone so I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. I'm trying to figure out how to have the phone auto connect to my cars bluetooth. Every time I turn the car on I have to tell the phone to connect and my car asks me if I want to pair the phone. Then when I turn the car off and back later when I get back in it starts all over again. Is there some setting that I can set that would let this auto connect?

Sound like you haven't completed the pairing process fully . Once your phone shows paired under Bluetooth settings ( you car name should be visible) it will automatically connect the next time as long as you have Bluetooth on already ..if you leave Bluetooth off then you'll have to turn on Bluetooth.

You car should also have your phone stored in it's Bluetooth directory, may be called something else depending on your vehicle make.

I leave Bluetooth on all the time, no real affect on battery and it auto connects everytime I start the car.

Yes I can see on my phone it connects to my alpine radio and everything is good. I have to go see if the radio saves my phone or not.

i too am coming from windows. on my 2013 entune toyota phone pairs properly. make sure you enter pair pin.

btw. in case you are not aware do noy expect text messages to be read to you like cortana did. apparently this was a windows phone thing. unless your car radio is new and support google auto.

Not necessarily true. I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Dodge Charger, both with Uconnect (no Android Auto). In both cars my LG V20 and my wife's Samsung S8+ both read texts just fine.

Ok I figured it out. I had to go into the Alpine radios settings and delete the phones that it stored in there. Of course the manual didn't tell me how to do that but I found it online pretty easy.

For those of you that had the problem of music playing when it connected if you had music running or not I switched to a different music player then the standard one and it does not happen any more.
