Connected device is not responding

[AC Question]

Just trying to charge my phone in my car for the first time-Homda Accord. Plugged into the USB port and the USB setting message keeps flashing on my screen. I cant click anything but it keeps coming back up every 2 seconds. The screen in the car also flashes saying 'connected device not responding'. Cant play with the car settings while plugged in. Phone is charging but I really cant use it. And if I did want to actually connect my device, I can't. Phone is an LG k20 v.

Maybe try a different cable?
