Considering getting rid of my one m8

I have the lg g3 and love the pics that i take with it. I do have a dslr and a mirorless camera but can't really take them with me everyday. Its nice to have something with you in case you need to take pics that you did not plan on.
While that's true (and I've taken maybe a dozen photos with my Nexus since I've had it, just "because it was there"), the purchaser needs to consider the primary use of the device. If it's mostly for taking pics, while staying in touch through e-mail, FB, phone etc, then for sure go with the best camera phone (even if it's on a Lumia).

If you want to stick to the android side of things, the Note 4 will be out in a few weeks and it has a 16mp, sony sensor camera, which I hear will be the best on the market.

Better than the Lumia 1020??? I'm not seeing that happening.

My $.02:

  1. If you care enough about the camera on your phone to replace said phone because of it, you should use a real camera.
  2. If you don't want to carry a real camera AND a phone because of the inconvenience, the camera on your phone is probably more than adequate...including the M8.
  3. If you aren't blowing up photos to 11x13 or more, the camera on your phone is probably more than adequate...including the M8.
  4. If you are having troubles getting good shots from your M8 you either:

  • A. have a faulty device, or
  • B. don't know how to properly use its camera

That said, it's your phone, camera and life...do what makes you happy, and good luck with whatever you choose. No skin in the game here...peace.

I couldn't disagree more. I have several "real" cameras - full frame Canons, and I also use the camera on my G3 pretty often. For many fun shots the G3 is awesome. I tried out the M8 and the camera just didn't cut it for me. Not even close. For most people a decent cell phone camera - not necessarily the G3, is all they need for 99% of their shooting.

I have M8 and G3 and i have issues with both devices. There is no perfect phone. M8 camera is not just bad it has blurry scratch issues as well. G3 has terribly sluggish android by LG.

Do you have the AT&T version? THey messed up the phone's OS imo. My TMO version of the G3 isn't sluggish. It's stock and is snappy even with the default launcher. Not as quick as the original M8 (or moto x), but fine for most.

I think the M8 is snappier than the G3 - but honestly I can barely tell the difference.
The M8 does have better sound - but I can't tell the difference buy many claim they can. I think you can't go wrong with either, if camera quality isn't a high requirement...

Right just to let people know I've sold my one and gone for the oneplus one might be a mistake might not but we shall see
