Constant abnormal resets?

I got my Evo 3D last week and within the past few days, the phone has been restarting on it's own with the error message "The phone has recovered from an abnormal reset."

Now I've read a few of the threads that are similar to this situation but none of those seem to emulate my issues. I'm an Android newbie so I am really in the dark. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been having the same issue. It seems to happen when I'm not around my phone (which is rare, ) When I look at it is says it has recovered from abnormal reset, and gives me the option to tell HTC about it. Not sure what the deal is, everything works fine after I send the report to HTC.

I rebooted mine after about the third or fourth reset this morning and it has worked fine since.

I'd still like some information on a possible solution if this problem crops up again. I'm going to assume there's an issue with my phone and I doubt one reboot fixes it.

After my reboot, mine did not reset all afternoon until I just made two brief phone calls (15 mins and 5 mins) and it reset immediately after the calls.

Interesting. I rebooted mine, haven't had any issues. I was on the phone since and have not had any problems. Not sure what causes the abnormal reset, and I don't think just rebooting fixes it. It doesn't seem to mess anything up, but would like to have a fix for it.

Mine have been doing it for the past 2 weeks. I pull out the battery and restart and it works fine but then it goes crazy probalby in a day or two. Dont know whats going on. Have had it on cleanrom 2.9.5 for awhile before this so im positive its not the rom.

I had the same issue a few days ago last week. As I see it its just Android...I don't expect to much out of it I guess. Its been a good week sense I have seen it. Now I say that and my phone will break today or tomorrow I bet!

I made some changes to the keyboard sensitivity and it appears the problem cropped up again. I've done a battery reset and it's stopped. I hope this is not indicative of the quality of the phone.

i was having that issue, thought it was a bad app or something, did a hard reset, still happened, I got tired an had it replaced with my warranty.....I recommend a hard reset and update profile and PRL

How much of a noob are you? Is your phone rooted? Custom ROM? Custom kernel?

I experienced a lot of random reboots and freezes, but found it was a compatibility problem between ROM and kernel. I switched kernels, and all was well.

Ok so im on CleanRom 3.0 preview now. It still happens but im not blaming the rom just yet. It seems to reset more frequently when Im in area of bad coverage or if I decide to turn on 4G. Im thinking of a radio thing. Because I was in area of bad coverage/no coverage. It started doing the constant reset until I pulled battery. I decided to go airplane mode to conserve battery, since i'll be there all day and wasnt expecting any important call/text. As soon as I left the area, I turn off Airplane mode and it started resetting again.

My phone has reset 3 times in the last 2 days and I am sick of it, it just randomly shuts off. Today I was using TweetDeck and it just shutoff. It did this Sunday and also on Saturday.

Never rooted, running on stock ROM.

Haven't downloaded one app, changed one setting, only added e-mail accounts.

I have been experiencing the abnormal resets when I would have music playing and then a result from the abnormal resets, my WiFi will constantly turn on and off and whenever I leave it, my phone has the abnormal reset. When I have it off, it doesn't seem to happen. I am on the fence of doing a hard reset or contacting rogers. I have the android version 2.3.4. Not sure if that is of any help, but anything will help.

I have't been having this issue, maybe becuase I use GO Launcher EX. For the people having this issue, are you all using Sense?
