That's a good description of what I have also encountered with gmail. The serious lagging comes and goes, and may be relieved for a bit with a reboot or cold reboot, but it always returns. I suggest that for the near term, you consider powering your TF down completely if you are leaving for an extended period, to avoid the possible complete battery depletion.
I just finished a Factory Reset, despite my expectations that it won't make a whit of difference, based on the input from others. I figure I needed to get that out of the way before I submit a support ticket to ASUS. If I'm wrong, and it actually helps, I'll be the happiest TF user on the planet.
Ok...let us know how the factory reset works out. It's really not too big a deal...what's holding me back is I feel I may run into a problem with re-activating Sygic and I'll be needing that app pretty soon on a trip..

I'm still alive after about 6 hours, and have everything pretty well reloaded and activated. I suspect it's just a matter of time for the bug to do its stuff, though. I won't feel optimistic until a couple of days pass without incident.
Sygic (and Copilot Live) didn't automatically install from Android Market, but I was able to search each of them and download them manually. Sygic installed and activated for me - I just had to download the maps again, it pulled in the map downloader secondary Sygic app for me, and I needed to have my UserID/Password, and later the Product code to complete the install and activate.
Thanks.. Good to hear about Sygic. Strange it didn't install from the market. Did you install your apps clean or did you use asus backup? Look forward to seeing how its doing in a few days. What a PITA for a Monday evening
Ok question for everybody. Have you disabled any apps? When you disable an app it throws up a nag screen and I just ignored it. Could this be causing issues? I disabled Kindle, TegraZone, and Zinio.
I had my first incident of the screen locked after reboot this morning. I had to hard-reset (power button + volume up). So, is Asus monitoring or getting all of these problems mentioned here in this forum or do we need to tell them directly (geting a ticket? etc.)
Submitting a support ticket with ASUS is the right approach, I think, but I would make sure I have all of my ducks lined up before submitting it. I did a Factory Reset yesterday morning, just to have done everything I could to resolve it first, but so far, I haven't seen any more instability.
Vic let us know if the factory reset fixes your problem!
I too have been having these reboots and this morning it froze on the startup screen. The last several days, I have been removing apps that I felt may be suspicious in causing a conflict with ICS. I've removed, dual battery widget, live wallpaper, and some other apps I rarely use. Nothing so far has helped fix the situation. I've been trying to figure what app or function is causing the reboots. I noticed on the last three reboots I was attempting to play an embedded video from a three different site (Foxnews, News360, and yahoo) I don't think the problem is the sites, but more the video app. After it buffers, it begins to play and then either freezes and reboots or shortly there after reboots.
