Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if there was any way to use the "constellation" image from the S7 Edge / Note7 always on display on the S8? This is one of the deciding factors for me to keep the phone so this would be greatly appreciated.

Please advise if you have a solution.

I have attached an image of the always on display I would like to use.

Many thanks
CJA

You can choose your own image to use in the AOD. I don't know if it will look exactly how you want it, but it can be used.

Are you saying that the constellation image filled the entire screen (and not just a small area) on the AOD screen?

Here's your image on my AOD screen. On AOD on my S8+ (and I thought it was the same on my S7E) you can only see a small portion of the constellation image not a full screen image like wallpaper.
You can use your image as a wallpaper on the regular lockscreen.

yes on galaxy note 7 and on s7 edge - both have the AOD like this... not sure why S8 doesn't have this setting.

I just re-setup my S7E again (getting ready to sell) and I cannot find anywhere in the Alway On Display settings / setup that allows you to have a "full screen" image. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

That looks like a screen saver and not AOD. Go to settings>display>screen saver and see if that does it

Put your pictures in an album in Google Photos or a folder on your device and select that as where you want the screen saver pics to come from. You can select if you want it to take up the entire screen as well

I was thinking the same but on the S8 the Screensaver only comes on when charging. I can't find a way to add a single image either (which probably defeats the purpose of a Screensaver anyway).
I can't figure anything else out.

Agreed. I don't see anything else that allows a full screen photo besides wallpapers and screen saver.

Even in the themes I dont see anything with a full screen image. Everything so the smaller image in the middle with clock and stuff.

One your edge, go to settings > display > always on display > layouts > content to show > image. This is where it isツ I don't know if it is the same on the S8.

Damn! You are So Right LineKill! I never even remember seeing that (DOH! And I had 2 S7Es!)

Sadly, my S8+ Does Not have that "image" feature.

First screen shot is an S7E, 2nd screen shot is the S8+.

I am glad you found it on your S7 for the sake of sanity☺️ Not so happy it is not on your S8😕

The image feature may have not been popular, so Samsung took it away. However, sometimes they even take popular features away for no rhyme or reason¯\_(ツ)_/¯
