Consumer Reports review EVO 3D

Consumer reports actually like something that I want to buy....that's rare....lol.

Thanks!

Nice to see details about the 3D. I knew just about everything else and finally an in depth about video and pics. Im still happy.

The one thing I don't like about these reviews is that everyone has the same issues with the 3D, however, these are the same issues with any 3D presentation, whether you are in a 3D theater, watching a 3D television, or playing on a 3D gaming device. They all make your head hurt. They all have specific viewing angles with the exception of watching a 3D movie at the theater. So that shouldn't be a knock against this phone. That's a general criticism of 3D. I guess its like saying the EVO 3D can call cancer if you hold it to your head too often for long periods of time when that could be the case for any phone (just a note, phones causing cancer has not been yet proven as far as I know; just using this as an example). Doesn't seem to be a fair criticism.

^+1

I never had issues with the newer 3D technology, and after playing with the EVO 3D for a bit, I can say that it holds true

Yeah, the 3DS (even with the 3D slider set to the middle) messed with my head after only about 5 minutes. 3D TVs with glasses are a little easier on my eyes, but I guess 3D overall is something I can not do over long periods of time.

I don't know about you all but I'm really digging that gold colored rim around the cameras in that photo. Its probably a rendering error but if they make the Evo 3D with that gold colored rim, I'd like that one please. It makes look so much better.

I believe I read somewhere that the gold one is the gsm version, going overseas.

I really like this Consumer Reports reviewer's summary

"Bottom line: The HTC Evo 3D will go down in history for pioneering three-dimensional images on smart phones, though this technology clearly remains a work in progress. Nevertheless, the Evo 3D's top-notch hardware and intuitive interface make it one of the best Android phones I've ever used." :)
