"Contact list is being updated." Post 4.2.2 OTA

Hey Everyone,

After the OTA update this morning my contact list has been stuck on "Contact list is being updated." It's prohibiting me from accessing my address book to make calls and send text messages.

Current text conversations I have were saved but they just show up as each person's telephone number.

Has anyone experienced the same thing and found a solution?

The phone is also moving sluggish as a result of the update as well.

I'm also not receiving text messages now either.

Since no one else seems to have experienced the same issues I went ahead and did a hard reset, flashed back to factory settings, and restored my contacts as best I could.

Phone works fine now but I know I'm missing some contacts.

95% of my contacts were backed up through VZW's backup manager. I think the system just hadn't backed up some contacts in a while. So far I've only come across one or two numbers that I needed which were missing so I think overall I'll be okay. Phone moves very fast now.

Same Problem here...
I tried removing one of my gmail accounts and bringing it back in... same effect...

What if your contacts are only stored on the phone and not in your Gmail? Clearing data or factory restart erases every contact I assume. Is there a solution for this scenario whilst keeping your contacts that are only stored on the phone? Anyone?
