I mainly use Google contacts to manage my contacts but this problem I'm having is also happening in the stock Samsung contacts app.

My wife's contact info is missing from my contacts. When I open the app and scroll to the C's she isnt there. If I search for her it appears. She is even marked as a favorite and doesn't appear in the favorites list.

Again this is happening in Both apps. Any ideas? I don't know if this is happening with other contacts, I'll look through and see if I notice any others missing.

This probably isn't the case, but just to be sure -- are you certain her name is in the Name field, and not some other field? I usually see this issue for companies, when people put the company name in the Company field, but nothing in the Name field.

Yes, her name is in the name field. Also, because I'm using Google contacts when I am on my PC and go to Google and then the contacts area she appears in the favorites list, but not the regular alphabetical list. This is odd. I even tried deleting her completely and re-adding her info, still wont show up in the normal list.

If you don't have any contacts saved locally to the Phone account, then go to the App Manager, tap Menu>Show System, select Contacts and Contact Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data from both. Then open Contacts again and give it a few seconds to resync. Does she show up now?

Ok the flush and sync seemed to help. After the sync my wife showed up down in the S's!?!? So I looked at the contact info again. My wife's name is Ciara, but I was having a hard time getting Bixby to find her when I asked her to call Ciara. So in the contact info there is a phonetic pronunciation field, so I put Sierra so that Bixby would recognize her and it worked. Why does it categorize it based on the phonetic field!?! I deleted that field and now she appears in the correct spot, but now I cant tell Bixby to call or text her because Bixby SUCKS. Ugh this is dumb.
